As I walked into the St Michael’s School hall yesterday evening I felt a sense of a special celebration. The Principal and teachers of St.Michael’s certainly know how to capture a moment and recognise each Year 6 student’s graduates successes.
The Year 6 students walked up the hall with candles in their hands as with an announcement of each and every child including their memorable times, their achievements, and about their dreams and aspirations. Impressively what each wanted to be when they grew up.
Principal Mrs Allana Vedder in her address captured the very words that describe this school and its local community. outlined the vision she had for the graduating students as she talked about the greatness of Nelson Mandela quoted him when he said; “Education is the most powerful weapon that can change the world”.
Father Jerzy from the St Michael's Parish also gave a moving address as he instilled in the students to dream big, have confidence and never be afraid of what life throws at you.
It was also wonderful to see a video presentation of the Year 6 students, which told the story of their time at St.Michael’s from when they first started at the school in Kindergarten.
I would like to congratulate all the Year 6 graduates and make a special mention to Radhika Anand who was awarded the Ron Hoenig MP Outstanding Leadership Award for 2013.
